All About The Geographical Failover Challenge
Welcome to the official page of the UNIXy VPS Failover Challenge. The goal of the challenge is to showcase the resiliency of our failover solution at the world stage. The solution consists of two geographically dispersed but synchronized VPS nodes dedicated to serving the dynamic content of the domain cpanelfailover.net. We armed the two nodes with our proprietary failover technology and designed them to sustain the worst disruptions known to man. We are targeting a genuine yearly cumulative uptime of 99.99%.
While the scope of the challenge is clearly defined, there are factors and elements this solution is NOT designed to overcome:
- It is NOT designed to sustain heavy Distributed Denial of Service Attacks.
- It is NOT designed to fend off clever, determined attackers.
- It is NOT designed to survive a Digg / Slashdot effect.
- Dig / Slashdot proof failover servers available
- It is NOT designed to circumvent the law.
- It is NOT designed to be “bullet proof.”
